On this occasion, Google Maps has added controls in the navigation view for Apple Music, Google Play Music and Spotify.
If you have used Waze, you may already know what it is, because this navigation app (which does not “map” itself) has been allowing it for a long time. Is about be able to move forward, backward, stop and open Apple Music, Google Play Music or Spotify on the same Google Maps navigation screen.
Only the controls will appear while we are in the navigation mode. When you start it, you will ask us at the bottom of the screen if we want to “follow the playback”, which will open Apple Music, Google Play Music or Spotify, and return to Google Maps automatically.
If it does not appear, you should go to the Google Maps settings. Open the Google Maps menu by pressing the three horizontal stripes button at the top left. Then, press the cogwheel that appears in the upper right of the menu. Enter "Navigation" and there you will find the settings to configure navigation as you like. Among them, “Music playback controls”.
It will only allow you to choose one music service at a time (or none), then, unlike other Google services (such as Google Home, for example) Do not use your Apple Music, Google Play Music or Spotify account, but open the device application.
If you still don't see the option, patience, it's starting to activate for different users, but it will reach everyone. In fact, some users have been seeing it since September on their devices in a previous Google launch.
