CarPlay continues its path to reach more vehicles in 2018

Gradually but with firm step is the path that Apple CarPlay is following in the vehicles that we can find in the dealerships. This year 2017 has been really interesting in terms of new additions of this service of Apple in cars and obviously this year will continue in the same line.

Many cars of more "affordable" range are entering already equipped with CarPlay which is certainly good for everyone. Now when there are a few days left for the start of the car show in Los Angeles, a list of new models that will be compatible with this software is added.

Although this list shows car models that we can say are high-end, this is good since the expansion in the rest of the models of the same brands is almost on par, but obviously they incorporate it into the most powerful models and expensive first. The list of new models compatible with Apple CarPlay is the next:

  • 2018 BMW i3
  • 2018 BMW 6 Series Gran Turismo
  • 2018 Hyundai Kona
  • 2018 Jeep Wrangler
  • 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross
  • 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo
  • 2019 Audi A8
  • 2019 Genesis G70
  • 2019 Lincoln MKC
  • 2019 Lincoln Nautilus
  • 2019 Mercedes-Benz CLS
  • 2019 Porsche Cayenne
  • 2019 Subaru Accent
  • 2019 Volvo XC40

In this case as we can see the models are of high ranges, but I already say at the beginning that other brands such as Seat, Citroen, Volkswagen, Skoda, Kia, Mazda and others are adding this system in their cars to avoid distractions while driving. On the other hand some offer even the two options, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, this is a tough competitor in this segment although we must continue working on it to incorporate new functions and more options, especially to make the maximum possible applications compatible in both systems for Get more safety behind the wheel.
