The taxi of the future is part of the present (II): Lyft

Some say that if you can't with the enemy, you must join him. Lyft has had several opportunities to join Uber and leave the war behind the two titans of taxi 2.0, but it has always ended up rejecting that possibility and since its dome it has continued betting on very aggressive marketing campaigns, growth hacking everywhere and a really good service.

Compete at any price

If there is something that has characterized Lyft, it is the fierce competition it has done before Uber. This has resulted in multimillion dollar losses at the expense of big promotions and many incentives for drivers, something that has not seemed to matter much to investors in view of the fact that the purple company was able to continue growing in number of users every month and consolidate itself as the second option in the United States.

And that is one of the first things we should keep in mind with Lyft: for the moment It only operates in the North American country. The expansion plans of this application have not been as ambitious as those of Uber, and although its CEO has repeatedly spoken about European expansion, the reality is that in the short term it does not seem that we will see it.

Without complications

Lyft application it's extremely simpleIn fact, it probably has the simplest interface of all that we will see in this miniseries of reviews. With the well-known pinkish tone as predominant in the interface, we get a map and some boxes to fill with our origin and destination, as well as the possibility to choose between the classic options for the trip: Line (sharing car and saving), Lyft ( the standard), Plus (with 6 seats) and Premier (luxury cars with leather seats). The Line is especially interesting since the price is fixed and although we do not share a car, we will always pay less than in a normal Lyft.

All this seasoned with very reasonable collection times in the US cities where I have been able to try it, as well as a very positive user experience. To finish off the task and as we have already commented, Lyft offers very aggressive marketing, something we can benefit from as users.

As with the rest of the apps, you can benefit from getting free trips in the registry using this link (the amount varies according to the date, although it usually alternates between 25 and 50 dollars), or alternatively you can make a registration without promotional credit.
