two decades of the web in a 3-minute Time-Lapse

The Apple website turned 20 recently. You could say that they opened the website coinciding with the modern Apple, that is, one year before Steve Jobs returned to the company he founded in the mid-70s. Since then there have been many changes, always showing the most outstanding news of the company that makes the smartphone that gives its name to this blog.

Being able to see how apple.com has been during all these years would not be a simple task, unless we do it by watching a video like the one you have below these lines. It's about a Time lapse or a slide show of only three minutes long that I have personally seen almost without blinking.

Apple.com changes in just 3 minutes

The video begins with a voice of Steve Jobs that ends with that “people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do". In the different screenshots we see all kinds of interesting moments, such as the iBook in 2002, the iPod in 2002, iTunes in 2003, the iPhone in 2007, the App Store in 2009, the iPad in 2010, the death of Steve Jobs in 2011 or the AirPods already in 2016. I think it is important to mention that the years that appear under each image are those of the web, not when the products.

The web design also changes a lot Over the years, starting with a slightly chaotic website, going through a reduction of sections and ending with the most current version, much simpler and with a much flatter design. Logically, all new products that have been launched, such as the Apple Watch, have also been added to the web.

What I find curious about this type of time travel is to see how the devices were long ago, asking me if his designs liked at the time. The point is that, if Apple has reached where it has arrived, it will be that it did like it, right?
