We have talked a lot since last November about Sony's intentions to allow PlayStation 4 owners to perform a “Remote Play” with Mac OS systems. We finally have it here, and that is Today and tomorrow is when Sony will release this update of the PlayStation 4 operating system, version 3.50, which will allow users to do Remote Play with Mac OS computers. Sony has been testing these functions for a long time in the beta function, but this did not include the version for remote use for Mac, however it seems that the final version does, at least they have confirmed it from Sony itself. The owners of PlayStation 4 and Mac computers are anxious.
Thanks to this function we can connect the DualShock 4 (the PlayStation 4 controller) directly to our Mac system to be able to play Of course, they must meet a series of requirements, so when we have configured the device, the Playstation 4 through “remote use” will make a streaming broadcast through our home internet network, then the Mac will automatically connect to Offer us a duplicate of the image, but directly on our computer.
With this update we will expand the possibilities of using PS4 remotely, so you can work with both Windows PC and Mac. Remote use on PC / Mac will be compatible with:
- windows 8.1
- Windows 10 or later
- OS X 10.10
- OS X 10.11
You can select from the following FPS resolution and speed options, depending on the bandwidth of your connection
- Resolution options: 360p, 540p, 720p (default: 540p)
- Frame rate: Standard (30fps), High (60fps) (default: Standard)
As you have indicated, we must connect the DualShock 4 via USB. Unfortunately we do not find resolutions above the 720p, although it will be more than enough to get us out of trouble.
