Helio G90: the new processor for gamers from Mediatek

Mediatek also wants his piece of cake in the mobile phone market for gamers.


The mobile phones gaming they are still booming and chip makers don't lose the chance to get on that car.

The last company to present a chip dedicated to such devices is Mediatek. Taiwanese processor manufacturer announced on July 30 the launch of a new range of processors, the G90 series, which includes the Helio G90 and its top version, the Helio G90T.

These two processors are focused on phones gaming mid-range, so they stay somewhat away from competing with the Snapdragon 855 Plus from Qualcomm, but they can compete with the Snapdragon 730G, one of the phone processors of these characteristics that the US manufacturer presented in April 2019.

Mediatek says its new G90s are 9 percent faster than its direct competitors and that they support up to 10GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

The company also says that these include a number of technologies, called HyperEngine, aimed at improving the mobile gaming experience, which favor faster and more stable connections and also graphics.

At the moment no phone model has been confirmed that in the future it will have this processor, but it is expected that they will be mid-range phones, since the high-end phones expected in the coming months, such asAsus ROG Phone IIthey will have more powerful processors like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus.
