Before you can edit PDF files, you must be able to open them in some type of application on your PC or laptop. If you do not have a PDF editor, you can also convert it to Microsoft Word format. Here are some free options to do so.

Once the software, Open the PDF and click on the Export PDF tool in the right pane, then choose Microsoft Word as the export format. Click on Export.

Convert PDF to Word using Google Drive
Today it is very common to have a Google account, but if you don't have it yet, you can Click on this link to get one for free.
Google Drive is part of the set of free services that offers cloud storage and applications for your text documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
Go to Google Drive, log in and click on the + New button. Select Upload from file. Find the PDF on your computer and double-click on it to import it into the unit.
A pop-up window in the lower right confirms that your PDF has been loaded – touch the file name to open a preview of that file.
At the top of the window there is an option to Open with Google Docs – click on that option.
Once opened in Docs, you will notice some formatting changes and the images are likely to be deleted (the other options on-line which are listed below are better for dealing with these aspects). But the text must be present and correct, and can be edited as desired.
You can continue working on that document in Google Docs or click on File Menu and choose Download as> Microsoft Word.
