IPhone 11 tops global smartphone sales chart

According to a new report from analyst company Omdia (echoed by another IDG post, Tech Advisor), iPhone 11 was the best-selling mobile phone during the first half of 2020.

A total of 37.7 million units of iPhone 11 were sold during this period, compared to 11.4 million units that were sold for the Samsung Galax.and A51, in second place, and the 11 million Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, in third place.

Apple has five models in the top ten, while said Galaxy is the only representative of a company that is neither Apple nor Xiaomi. In addition to the iPhone 11 in first place, the iPhone SE appears in fifth; the XR, in sixth; the 11 Pro Max, in seventh; and the 11 Pro, in tenth.

It is worth noting, however, that Apple always wins in these comparisons because of the low number of models it has. Other companies have many more, so their figures they become relatively less impressive.

Samsung, which has had a somewhat disappointing first half of the year beyond taking second place with this Galaxy model, is the manufacturer that mmore number of smartphones sold in the second quarter.
