With the aim of attracting female talent to the world of technology, Samsung presented its program “Samsung Developers“, Which seeks to facilitate the incorporation of women into the technological world. The initiative is part of its program “Technology with Purpose“, And was announced during the ninth edition of its annual developer conference in Madrid, Samsung Dev Day.
So, Samsung Developers, will promote a series of proposals to facilitate the incorporation of women into the world of programming and increase the visibility of those who are already part of it. Samsung Developers has the collaboration of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and includes free training about programming without the need for previous experience, this training covers programming technologies with high demand, facilitating new job opportunities.
And is that according to data from the European Commission (EC), only 30% of the 7 million people who work in the ICT technologies sector are women. In addition, the EC assures that attracting more women to the sector could mean a growth of 9,000 million for the European Union market.
“We are very aware of the developer sector in Spain, and local data have indicated that only 22% of software and multimedia analysts and designers are women. Samsung Developers: Technology Training
The first project of the initiative Samsung Developers It consists of training: The first course will serve as an introduction to the world of programming, so no specific prior training is necessary … Just a lot of desire and the necessary skills. They explain from Samsung that this course will be taught online and will have a teaching load of 50 hours. It is focused on Front-end development with HTML5 and CSS3, where the student will learn the fundamentals of creating modern web pages with current norms / standards. To access these courses, you will need to be registered on the Samsung platform for the Spanish developer community: Samsung Dev Spain (registration form). Afterwards, you must send an email to [email protected] explaining why you want to access this training and the previous knowledge and experience you have in the matter. It is important to mention that this course is only the first phase. Upon successful completion of this first Samsung Developers online course, the students will be able to continue training in the second classroom course, which will be taught at Higher Technical School of Computer Systems Engineering (South Campus) and will last 150 hours.
