IBM Introduces New Lotus Notes 8.5 for Mac

IBM has presented in the framework of the recent Macworld Expo the compatibility of the Lotus Notes 8.5 collaboration software with the Mac OS X Leopard operating system. Free Lotus Symphony for Mac software will also be released shortly.

According to the developer, Lotus Notes 8.5 provides significant storage savings over previous versions and is now available for Mac, Windows and Linux operating systems. The new version of this software incorporates an intelligent function that saves a single copy of each attachment on the mail server, achieving an estimated space saving of 40%; A new interface that integrates all the collaboration tools on a single screen with links to virtual project rooms, instant messaging, pending tasks, calendar or Internet browsers; social functions with the integration of public Internet agendas such as Google or Yahoo; as well as integration with Lotus Sametime, allowing to initiate conversations through messages and voice over IP (VoIP) with a single click. It is also compatible with Lotus Quickr, allowing you to share files between work teams.

Lotus iNotes 8.5 compatible with Safari

IBM has also announced the new Lotus iNotes 8.5 software, which incorporates anywhere access via the Safari browser. iNotes allows the user to integrate the Notes calendar with the Google one, is compatible with most standard widgets and allows to connect to Notes remotely.
