Adobe Media Player arrives with high definition support

The new software provides control and flexibility to view what you want and when you want, regardless of whether the content is online or on the computer. The player offers the user the possibility to subscribe to television channels and all kinds of online video content to automatically receive new episodes as they become available. Later, the library can be managed and viewed at the user’s convenience. It has an advanced system for locating on the network according to its genre, as well as those stored on the hard disk, with the possibility of managing favorites folders.

The player allows the handling and viewing of high definition formats such as 1,080p, 720p or 480i and with advanced audio quality. In other words, the video quality has been substantially improved over previous versions of Flash Player 9, as well as adding support for H.264 and On2 VP6 video encoding. Regarding the audio, HE-AAC (High Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding) is added, currently considered one of the best existing Codec. Another of the great benefits is the hardware acceleration it offers for viewing files downloaded from the network in real time.

In the words of John Loiacono, senior vice president of Creative Solutions at Adobe, “with Adobe Media Player we are providing the necessary tool to jointly view both online and proprietary content, with a new user experience based on our proprietary platform.”

From Adobe they comment that Media Player also supports protection options for streaming content, ads, as well as video content with DRM. Its download can be carried out from the manufacturer’s website.
