Photoshop Express will be an online version of the industry standard image editing software Photoshop. Using a standard browser, users can make basic adjustments to images such as red-eye removal, cropping, color adjustment, and retouching.
Adobe is introducing the software, which will provide limited functionality compared to the desktop application, as part of its strategy to provide the software as a service.
Adobe CEO Bruce Chizen has recently indicated that online software as a service will be the de facto standard for software distribution in the next decade.
The software will be licensed by photo portals such as Shutterfly and Photobucket.
