Adobe releases the PDF format for standardization

Today, PDF for File (PDF / A) and PDF for Exchange (PDF / X) are already ISO standards, and Adobe has two others in the process of becoming standard: PDF for Engineers (PDF / E) and PDF for Universal Access (PDF / UA). Additionally, PDF for Health (PDF / H) is a proposal for Good Practices from the AIIM (Association for the Management of Images and Information).

As explained by Sarah Rosenbaum, director of product management at Adobe, “it was starting to make an alphabet soup depending on the industries or uses of the specification. Having PDF 1.7 as a standard will make life easier for organizations that they have to comply with government regulations for use of the format. The full specification will be available as an umbrella standard. ” The person in charge has also declared that they hope that standardization will create more uses and applications for PDF.
