Image Doctor 2 includes the Dust and Scratch Remover, JPEG Repair, Blemish Concealer, Skin Softener, and Smart Fill plug-ins. Each of these plug-ins are optimized to help digital photographers get the most out of their images, according to the developer, whether in the image restoration, touch-up or repair phases. Plug-ins can help remove dust, scratches, and blemishes from old photographs, repair JPEG images that are over-compressed, remove unwanted objects from images, and smooth areas of skin that have birthmarks, freckles, wounds, or other defects.
The rendering speed has been improved over the original version, as well as the quality and the possibilities of skin retouching, where the Skin Softener and Blemish Concealer options offer better functionality. The software now operates in multi-threaded mode to get the most out of multi-core and multi-processor computers. 16-bit support has also been added, native support for Intel processor-based Macs, and various changes have been made to the user interface.
The software requires Adobe Photoshop CS2 or later, Photoshop Elements 4 or later, or a host application that supports these types of filters. It is compatible with Mac OS X 10.4 or later, including Leopard.
