As part of the update, IK Multimedia has also released a standalone version incorporating SpeedTrainer, an audio player with speed and pitch controls that makes song learning easier. SpeedTrainer allows you to drag any WAV or MP3 file directly from the hard disk and define repeat points to facilitate the accompaniment of a song.
Another change is that users will no longer need to use a USB iKey or dongle to authorize the software to run.
AmpliTube 2.1 is available as a free download for registered users of the previous version.
