Apple Announces Record First Quarter Results of Its Fiscal Year

Apple has announced financial results for the first quarter of its fiscal year 2007 (October, November and December 2006). The company has achieved quarterly sales of about 5,494 million euros, obtaining a quarterly net profit of 774 million euros (equivalent to 1.14 dollars per share).

During said quarter, Apple sold 1,606,000 Macintosh computers and 21,066,000 iPod units, representing a 28 percent increase in the number of computers and a 50 percent increase in iPod units sold over the same quarter of the previous year. .

In the breakdown of Macintosh sold, 637,000 units correspond to desktop computers and 969,000 to portable units.
