Apple releases an update for Tiger, including Safari 3.0

The update includes several improvements and troubleshooting, as well as the final version of Safari 3.0, Apple’s web browser that has been in beta for the past few months.

Other changes to the operating system include the addition of RAW decoding support for the following cameras: Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ50, Leica V-Lux 1, Olympus E-400, Olympus EVOLT E410, Olympus EVOLT E510, and Canon EOS 40D. The update also improves compatibility when using OpenType fonts in QuarkXPress.

For users of virtualization solutions, Mac OS X 10.4.11 also improves reliability when using VMware Fusion software.

Other changes are aimed at improving iPhone support. The update improves support for the Image Capture utility when importing images captured with the iPhone. Synchronization between the iPhone and Yahoo! calendars has also been improved.

Other modifications have also been made to the network components, as well as to other features such as the Energy Saver.

Mac OS X 10.4.11 can be downloaded from the Apple website or through the Software Update feature of Mac OS X.
