The application, which will be available at the beginning of next February, will launch a new user interface, will allow the creation of segmented backups automatically on CD and DVD media and will introduce new configuration options to create backup copies. For example, it includes new presets that make it easy to back up your iTunes and iPhoto files; it has the ability to automatically come out of sleep to initiate a backup, and to shut down the computer once it has completed. Additionally, the “back in time” feature allows you to see the files and directories as they were when the backup was made.
