The My Book Premium ES Edition hard drive incorporates the eSATA (external Serial ATA) connection, in addition to maintaining the USB 2.0 connection to provide greater compatibility options for connection to the product. The product is supplied with EMX Retrospect Express HD 2.0 software for creating and restoring backups.
Like the other models in the My Book family, the My Book Premium ES Edition does not require the installation of a CD since the included software loads directly from disk when connected. Its intelligent disk management system, SmartPower, turns the device on and off automatically with your computer. The Safe Shutdown feature ensures that the data is saved before closing it.
