Everything that has been announced (and what has not) at the Apple event in April 2021

Apple just held its spring event. Many of the products and news announced were expected, however, we have been wanting to see news about others such as a new iPad mini or an update to the AirPads.

However, Apple has brought with it many new features: new iPads Pro, new iMacs with a quite revolutionary design or a new generation of Apple TV.

Below we tell you, in summary, what are all the news that Apple has announced at its spring event on April 20.

What has Apple announced at the spring 2020 event?1?

New iMacs with M1 chip and new design

It was rumoured, but it has been officially confirmed at the Apple spring event: on April 30, the new iMacs will be available for purchase, which, this time, in a rather novel way, will be available in seven different colors.

The new design draws quite a lot of attention, with a 24-inch screen and bezels that have been reduced in size by up to 50%.

As expected, these new iMacs come to life thanks to Apple’s own new processor, that is, the M chip.1 Bionic.

New iPad Pros

The next star product of this year’s spring Apple event was undoubtedly the new iPad Pro, also with an M1 chip.

Some of the novelties that this new iPad incorporates are ultra-fast 5G and an incredible Liquid Retina XDR screen.

New Apple TV 4K and Siri Remote

This was another of the novelties that we expected to discover at this Apple event, the sixth generation of Apple TV, the Apple TV 4K, incorporates novelties such as an A12 Bionic processor, a color balance tool that you can use with your iPhone and a Siri remote redesigned, this time, with aluminum 100% recycled.

This new tracker and object locator from Apple will be very helpful in finding objects such as keys or wallets if you can’t find them. They have presented a round design with a keyring-shaped cover available in various colors thanks to which you can hang the tracker on different objects.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini in purple

This news will especially please the fans of the color purple. Apple has announced at its spring event that the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will also be available in purple.

It is currently available for purchase on the official Apple website.

Apple Card Family and Apple Podcasts

At the start of the event, Apple has also brought us news about two services: Apple Card Family, thanks to which the Apple Card can be shared between members of the same family, and Apple Podcast with a new subscription system.

Apple Card Family, as we have said, is a way to share the Apple card. In this way, you will be able to track the purchases made with that account, manage common expenses (and control those of your children) and accumulate joint credit.

For now, the Apple Card Family service will be available only in the United States from May. However, keep an eye on us because we will inform you as soon as the service is also available in Latin America and Spain.

On the other hand, Apple Podcast will allow listeners from more than 70 countries (also starting in May), to subscribe to a premium account that will allow you to listen to different podcasts without advertising and access additional and exclusive content and even in advance.

What (expected) products have not been announced at the Apple event?

ipad mini

Despite the rumours, we haven’t heard of a new iPad mini at Apple’s spring event.

We tell you more about possible release dates of the iPad mini 6, in this article.

10.5-inch iPad

Although the 10.5-inch iPad is usually announced at the spring event.

Many thought that Apple could have moved the current 10.2-inch iPad to the frame of the recently discontinued iPad Air 3, which would mean an increase in screen size to 10.5 inches. However, this has not been the case.

Prosser was wrong about the AirPods Max and he’s wrong again about Apple’s new AirPods launch at the April event.

Several new AirPods were rumored, including the AirPods 3, said to be based on the AirPods Pro design, and also the AirPods Pro Lite earphones (which could actually be the same thing).

We’ll have to keep waiting.
