Launch: When will the AirPods Pro 2 go on sale?
It seems that this same 2022 will see the arrival of the next version of the AirPods Pro. Most sources say so, so we have a few months to wait.
In a report of Bloomberg In May 2021, Mark Gurman suggested that the second generation of AirPods Pro would not arrive until 2022. Ming-Chi Kuo agreed with him in his June investor note.
But why have they been delayed until 2022? We don’t know the answer, although many products have been delayed due to the component crisis and COVID restrictions.
According to Twitter user FrontTron, it would have to wait until next fall. The technology leaker indicates that the launch has been postponed from the second to the third quarter of 2022.

Thus, it is most likely that the new AirPods Pro 2 will not arrive until September or October 2022.
Price: How much will the AirPods Pro 2 cost?
This is the price of the AirPods currently on sale, although it could change when the third generation AirPods are introduced:
- AirPods with charging case: €179 / MXN$4,999
- AirPods with wireless charging case: €229 / MXN$3,999
- AirPods Pro: €279 / MXN$5,999
- AirPods Max: €629 / MXN$13,699
When the AirPods 3 arrive, expect Apple to keep the more expensive AirPods 2 model and lower the price, which would make the AirPods 3 the same price as before (€229 / MXN$3,999).
AirPods Pro cost €50 / MXN$1,000 more than AirPods. Will Apple keep that selling price of the AirPods Pro? We think so, and we would also like to see the AirPods Max lower.
Design: What will the AirPods Pro 2 look like?
Everything points to AirPods getting a new design, and we think the same could be said for the AirPods Pro 3 to stand out from the new standard AirPods.
There is evidence that this could be so. In fact, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg believes that the new AirPods Por will not have pins, and would follow the design of the new Beats Studio Buds.
We quite like the current design, although perhaps not so much the charging case. It’s more of a hassle than before to remove the earphones from the case, and the hinge seems less sturdy.
Apple could give a few tweaks to the design of the case instead of completely redesigning the earbuds.
On the other hand, it seems that the new AirPods Pro could be available for the first time in two sizes, or so Twitter user Mr White believes (the tweet has been deleted), who published an image of the components, available in two sizes .

It is possible that, with the new AirPods Pro, new colors will also arrive. It would be strange if, at this point, Apple still does not offer it in at least two different colors.
The AirPods Max, on the other hand, are already available in five different colors: space gray, silver, pink, green and blue.
Surely it is most likely that they will also be available in space gray or black, although they may bet on green, blue or pink.

One of the areas that could be improved is the water resistance, as the IPX4 rating is still somewhat poor. The RHA TrueConnect 2 and the Creative Outlier Air, some of the best earbuds wireless, they already offer IPX5. The JBL UA True Wireless Flash, on the other hand, are IPX7.
Optical heart rate sensors have always seemed unnecessary and inconvenient, but some sports users seek them out and find them on rival models. It is unlikely but not impossible that Apple will incorporate them.
Like the AirPods Max, the AirPods Pro could move to gesture control, such as using muscle movements associated with speech when not speaking loudly. It could be used to trigger commands or as biometric identification.
What types of AirPods are there?
Apple makes three types of AirPods: AirPods (available with or without a wireless charging case), AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max.
The next AirPods to be updated will be the standard AirPods. We’ll likely end up knowing them as “AirPods 3” or “the third generation of AirPods,” and they should arrive before the year is out.
The second generation of AirPods Pro (the “AirPods Pro 2”) will likely arrive in mid-2022.
AirPods Max are the most expensive AirPods, and the least in need of an upgrade. They may have a minor update in late 2022, but we doubt they’ll be as popular as the earbuds from Apple.
